She's back! Join everybody's favourite beer-swilling, chain-smoking, kangaroo-lurving lunatic as she embarks on her first 'proper' literary excursion. Violence! Time travel! Midgets! Yes, tremble in fear at "Tank Girl: The Novel!" Tank Girl and Booga have launched an all-out assault on the town of Chankers, starting with the church. But what prompted this attack? Could it have something to do with Booga's nightmare vacation there years ago? Well, duh - whaddyou think?Destined to become a literary classic - y'know, like Watership Down or something - and a mainstay of school syllabuses, this is Tank Girl as you've never experienced her before: in attractively justified eight point serif. Warning: Adults Only!
Although developments in wastewater treatment over recent decades have focused on the biological reactor, the secondary settling tank (SST) also plays a major role in achieving increasingly stringent effluent quality standards. This report collates many of the significant developments that have taken place in SST theory, design, modelling and operation. Earlier SSTs were designed only by empirical hydraulic criteria such as overflow rate, which do not recognize sludge concentration and settleability. Today, there are available not only much improved design procedures but also hydrodynamic models for simulating water and solids distribution and flows in full-scale SSTs. Nine chapters cover a wide range of subjects including: Flocculation and settling behaviour of biological sludges SST performance evaluation protocols Development and evaluation of the different design procedures such as the flux theory and the ATV design rules Developments in and application of one- two- and three-dimensional modelling Experience-based aspects of design and operation of circular, rectangular and vertical SSTs. Reprinted for 2006 Scientific and Technical Report No.6
The Aboveground Steel Storage Tank Handbook I like the summary of regulations in conjunction with industry standards and products. Usually a book covers one or the other. --Wayne Geyer, Executive Vice-President, Steel Tank Institute I think this is a valuable text in that it does a very good job presenting the two types of ASTs. --Darryl J. Butkos, Hydrogeologist and Environmental Engineer The U.S. aboveground storage tank (AST) market will approach $2.0 billion in 1995 and has an annual growth rate of approximately 5 percent. Shop-built ASTs have proliferated over the last 10 years and are replacing the underground tanks that have caused a large percentage of groundwater contamination. Larger field-erected tanks are now found at almost every industrial facility because of their greater reliability and the lessened risk of environmental spills. The Aboveground Steel Storage Tank Handbook discusses the myriad of regulations, codes, and manufacturing standards and shows how they are intertwined. It is the first handbook on aboveground storage tanks that explains the unique differences between field-erected ASTs and shop-built ASTs. The authors have divided the Handbook into four easy-to-understand sections: Markets, Regulations, Standards, and Products. Anyone who finds himself or herself working through the maze of the AST compliance paperwork will find this book to be a great benefit as a single-source reference guide.
The Writer's Waterfall is a collection of some of the most influential of Sai Marie Johnson's poems. Each poem was selected to showcase the variety, and different style that Sai sometimes uses. While some poems are very thought-provoking others are much more sensual, and erotic.
E.A. Wallis Budge was an English philologist and writer who worked for the British museum. Budge wrote a lot on the ancient East after taking multiple trips to Egypt and the Sudan. This edition of Budge's Tutankhamen: Amenism, Atenism, and Egyptian Monotheism includes historical Egyptian images.
